Training
Training is how your players improve. Every week runs on its own, so your job is to set a plan (Team view, Training tab) that fits your squad.
Focus beats spread
A skill you focus on crosses the next point far sooner than the same effort spread over all twenty.
Age matters
Youth trains fastest. A player at 20 or younger gets more out of every training week than an older one, and that bonus fades a little each birthday until it is gone at 25. It is the same extra for every club, so it is how a small club with a young squad closes on a rich one.
Then it turns around. From 28 the weekly gain starts to fall with every year, and from 30 a player also starts losing physical skills at every season change: a slice of each of the five, and a bigger slice as he gets older. The two cross in the early thirties: training is still adding points there, but the decline takes away more than it brings, so that is where a career now peaks. Keep training an older player and he holds most of what he has; stop and he slides.
Set an intensity
Intensity applies to the whole squad at once. Higher intensity trains faster but also raises the chance of an injury during that week, and High intensity injuries last longer, so the reward and the risk rise together. A club that trains hard needs a deeper squad.
Focus each player
For every player, pick a focus: a whole group (Physical, Attack, Defense or Goalkeeping) or a single skill inside it. No focus means the effort spreads thin across all 20 skills. Change a focus any time; it takes effect from the next training week.
How much players improve
Improvement is small and steady: progress on a focused skill carries over between weeks until it reaches a full point, then the skill goes up by 1. A dedicated focus crosses that line much sooner than one shared across nineteen other skills. No skill can go above 100.
Work ethic
Every player has a fixed work ethic rating (1–100) that never changes and never affects a match. It only decides how much they get out of every training session.
Read the report
After each training week, the Training tab lists every player who crossed a full point and which skills went up. No names shown just means no one crossed the line that week; the progress still carries over.
Role training
A player can also learn a second role, so he plays it without the out-of-position penalty. Your Training Facilities unlock one role-training slot at levels 5, 10, 15 and 20. Put a player in a free slot and pick the role; he learns it over a number of league rounds, for a weekly fee shown on the weekly report. Cancelling refunds nothing.
