Players

Your club is its squad: it starts with 10 players and can grow to 30. Seven take the court as the starting lineup and the rest sit on the bench.

The seven roles

A player's role decides where they play and what they are asked to do.

GoalkeeperThe last line in front of goal: saves shots, holds clean saves and starts the next attack after a stop.
Centre BackThe playmaker: builds the attack from the middle of the court and keeps the ball moving.
Left and Right BacksThe long range shooters: attack from the 9m line in the half spaces.
Left and Right WingsThe fast flank attackers: drive to the 6m line and convert the close chances they create.
PivotThe line player: holds position at the 6m line and finishes under pressure.

What makes a player

Each player is described by their personal details (age, height, preferred hand and country) and their 20 match skills, rated from 1 to 100. There is also work ethic, a personal trait that never changes and only shapes how quickly a player trains.

Statistics

A player’s profile has two tabs: Attributes and Statistics. Statistics shows his league and cup numbers for this season and for his whole career (all past seasons added together): appearances, goals, shots, 7 metres, saves, steals, blocks, technical faults, exclusions, cards and player-of-the-match awards. Like his skills, a player’s statistics are private to his club, unless he is listed on the transfer market.

The other pages under Team go deeper: Attributes, Training, Injuries and Retirement.
